Raised in the wilderness by the wandering ranger Eldred, Kalen has spent his life hiding the power of his wolf blood. When Eldred gives him an ancient fang-shaped blade and tells him it may unlock the secret of his birth, Kalen leaves the mountains to search for his lost family. On the road, he rescues Lena, a young wolf woman hunted by the arrogant Wald noble pack, and follows her back to the weakened Volga pack. There, Kalen discovers that Lena is his sister and Lana is the mother who abandoned him years ago only to save his life. As the Wald family and human shadow hunters close in, Kalen is mocked as a lowborn hybrid, threatened, and forced to watch his family bleed. But every attack pushes his hidden Alpha blood closer to the surface. With the Wolfblade in hand, Kalen rises from outcast to protector, builds a pack of exiles, crushes the nobles and hunters who prey on the weak, and begins his path toward becoming the true Wolf King.
