Liora is eagerly looking forward to her wedding with Silas, until she accidentally receives a marriage certificate proving he has wed his secret daughter Vanessa in Las Vegas. Under the pretext of helping Vanessa claim her inheritance from the family trust, Silas keeps draining and exploiting Liora’s affection, talent and fortune. Repeatedly, he prioritizes Vanessa’s demands over Liora’s dignity.
Heartbroken, Liora cuts off this five-year misguided relationship completely. She stops clinging to romantic love and returns to Chicago to revive her gift as a top structural engineer. Kairos, who has secretly loved her all along, becomes her solid support. With assistance from Professor Graham Wilson, Liora breaks free from the chains of her past romance and climbs back to the peak of her career.
Silas only wakes up to his mistake after losing her. He chases her frantically, yet their shattered relationship can never be mended. Vanessa schemes relentlessly for wealth, commits crimes in the end and lands in prison.
