An ordinary young werewolf, publicly betrayed by his fated mate at the Awakening Rite, is judged to possess the lowest-tier bloodline, and left to die with his face ground roughly into the gravel under his enemy's boot. On the verge of death, the ancestral Moonstone necklace accidentally acknowledges him as its rightful owner, unlocking the long-lost legendary king-class bloodline. He then lurks under the disguise of a "low-rank miner" right under his enemy's nose for a full month, enduring the most excruciating humiliations: being splashed with swill, forced to crawl under others' crotches, even sent into the hunting range as a live moving target. He bears all these degradations just to wait for the arena of the Rending Moon Trial. When he finally unleashes his full king-class bloodline on the grand altar in front of tens of thousands of people, three thousand attendees fall prostrate in a surging, unified kneel. That once "trash" trampled deep in the mud? He is the Wolf King.
