Legal prodigy Victoria, to save her ailing mother, accepts financial support from wealthy heir Daniel, thus becoming his substitute lover and a pawn in his career. For seven years, she chases after his first love, shields him from alcohol, and takes the blame, treated as a disposable tool. After her beloved Sophia returns home, Victoria is demoted and humiliated, finally leaving heartbroken to join rival law firm Sterling & Associates, where she reunites and falls in love with Andrew, her senior who has secretly loved her for years. Without Victoria, Sterling & Associates quickly collapses, and Daniel realizes he can't live without her, frantically pursuing her to Los Angeles. Victoria publicly displays her wedding ring, severing ties with the past. Sophia, consumed by jealousy, commits a knife attack and is subdued. In despair, Daniel stabs Sophia to death and is ultimately imprisoned. Victoria and Andrew join forces to rise to the top of the legal world, achieving a stunning comeback.
