The Vance family is a hereditary alchemical noble house, holding the stewardship of the Royal Alchemical Tower. Aetherano Vance was the family's first heir and a genius alchemist rarely seen in a century. Devoted to potions and runes, she was generous to others and trusted Lovian, the personal maid who had been by her side since childhood. But Lovian was jealous of Aetherano. Tempted by the fallen alchemist Malcorn, she used the Umbral Facade Amulet, stained with Aetherano's blood, to forge a blood pact—and in one night, the two swapped appearances. Aetherano was thrown by Lovian into the Black Tower prison and forced to survive at the very bottom. Her only obsession was to reclaim her identity and expose Lovian's scheme. Lovian, wearing Aetherano's face, had utterly disastrous alchemical skills, yet occupied the honor of chief alchemist. Fearing Aetherano would take everything from her, she made things difficult for her at every turn, spread rumors, and set traps to suppress her. Meanwhile, the knight Serenkaid secretly searched for the real Aetherano. Relying on her own alchemical strength, Aetherano tore through Lovian's layers of conspiracy step by step. In the end, the crimes of Lovian and the fallen alchemist Malcorn were fully exposed, the Umbral Facade Amulet shattered, and Aetherano reclaimed her own face.
