The Farmer's Quiet Revenge

Neighbor Mason Marsh reports Clay Cole's drainage ditch as illegal. Clay Cole fills it in. A heavy rain floods Mason Marsh's crops. Mason and villagers ask for the ditch to be restored, but to no avail. He applies to the Land Management Office, and a new ditch is rebuilt. This incident improves village drainage and neighborly harmony.
