Aurora Sterling came home from two years in Kenya. Her father was Victor Sterling, the richest man in San Francisco. He sent his girlfriend and secretary, Natalie Brooks, to pick her up. Natalie brought a five-hundred-million-dollar gene therapy reagent as a gift. On the way, traffic stalled. Natalie told her brother Tyler to drive illegally. Aurora was buying tacos on the street. A seven-year-old boy ran into the road. Aurora threw herself in front of the car. The car crashed. The reagent shattered. Natalie and Tyler did not know who Aurora was. They beat her. They insulted her. They left her bleeding on the pavement. A taco vendor saved her life. Aurora woke up in a hospital. She learned the truth. She pretended to accept her father's engagement. She planned a family dinner. At the dinner, she exposed Natalie's embezzlement, her bribery, her assault. Natalie went to prison. Aurora became CEO of Sterling Therapeutics. She had come home to heal. She stayed to rule.
