On Christmas Eve, Erin helps her husband Mark sort through an old tablet, when a smart home notification pops up, showing live surveillance footage. Mark is spending the holiday with Lisa, the company’s CFO, and a four-year-old boy in another luxury mansion. When Mark’s phone rings, he lies that there’s an emergency at work and hurries out. Erin follows him to 1789 Oak Avenue. Through the window, she sees him hug Lisa and kiss the child — and her heart dies at that moment.
For the next month, she acts normal, going to work and making coffee as usual. But late at night, she uses the code backdoor she built to gather irrefutable proof. GitHub logs prove the algorithm was her pre-marital creation. Patent filings confirm she owns the core technology. Financial records expose how Mark transferred millions to Lisa under the name of business entertainment to buy a house and raise their secret child.
On the day of the Series B funding launch, with top investors nationwide in attendance, Mark steps up to deliver his speech as a “self-made tech prodigy.” Erin walks onto the stage and projects all the evidence onto the giant screen.
“The ‘genius’ you’re about to invest in was only the first test user of my algorithm. The test is over.”
FBI and IRS agents take Mark away on the spot. The firm’s stock crashes and gets delisted. Lisa is evicted from the mansion. Erin reclaims full ownership of her technology, launches her own studio and rises as a powerful new female CEO. Mark loses everything, ruined forever.
