Damian Sterling, CEO of the Sterling Group, disciplined himself from a young age because every man in his family was a hopeless "love brain," and he vowed never to lose control over a woman. At his wedding, he presented his bride with an outrageous post-marital agreement: conjugal relations once a year, kissing once a quarter, hugging and hand-holding once a month — any other intimacy required advance application. The guests were stunned, and his mother Victoria was furious.
But the real bride was not Eve Nebet, the eldest daughter of the Nebet family — it was her long-lost twin sister, Luna. The real Eve had run off with her boyfriend Sean to elope, only to die in a car crash. The Nebet family then paid to bring Luna back as a substitute bride. On the surface, Luna played the part of a poised, virtuous noble lady — but inside, she was a shameless, money-hungry schemer who only wanted to endure one year and walk away with the cash.
Damian accidentally discovered he could hear Luna's thoughts: she coveted his pecs and abs, mocked him for being frigid, salted his milk, laced his steak with chili powder as revenge, wanted to go to parties to ogle handsome men, and bought adult toys. Damian kept his cool on the outside while falling apart inside, breaking his own rules again and again: from separate beds to sharing one, from resistance to taking the lead, from "once a year" to five times a night. He gradually grew jealous and protective, humiliated business partner John, gifted her a Ferrari, let her keep a dog, and even accompanied her to a club on the Côte d'Azur in Monaco.
Luna, too, began to waver — claiming it was for the money while secretly unable to let Damian go. Her best friend Chloe suspected Damian could read minds, and the real Eve called from the hospital, exposing the substitution scheme. Victoria kept pushing for grandchildren, butler Alfred warned Damian not to repeat the family's "love brain" mistakes, and Sean emerged as a fresh source of conflict.
As the substitution truth, the mind-reading secret, and the contract marriage intertwine, Damian starts to fall for the real Luna — while Luna may be the one to leave. With "marriage first, love later," "face-slapping," and "groveling to win back the wife" as its core beats, this is a sweet-and-comic romance about a cold, mind-reading CEO and his wild substitute bride.
