Claire Sutton returns to her hometown to help farmers. She encounters jealousy from Martha, instigated by scammer Yvonne Shaw. Martha vandalizes Claire's warehouse and demands unreasonable prices. Claire moves to Brookside Town, securing orders and succeeding. After Martha and others suffer losses from Yvonne's scam, they guilt-trip Claire, even cooperating in a second scam. Claire uses the law and establishes an Agricultural Cooperative to lead honest farmers to prosperity.
